Learn Spanish in My Abuela’s Kitchen — Where the Coffee Region Begins with Chorizo Santarrosano!👵
Close your eyes and imagine the sizzling sound of chorizo on a warm Colombian morning, the aroma filling the air in the beautiful coffee region. Can you hear families gathering around the breakfast table, sharing stories over steaming coffee? ✨
This is my childhood memory from Colombia. Every Sunday, when I used to visit my abuela (grandmother) would wake up early to prepare the most incredible chorizo santarrosano - a recipe passed down through generations, filled with love and tradition from our beautiful coffee region.❤️
💡 Insight:
Spanish isn’t just learned in a classroom — it’s learned in your abuela’s kitchen, while chorizo sizzles on the stove.
That smell, that sound, that joy… they teach you more than any book.
When you learn with flavor, every bite becomes a memory — and every memory speaks Spanish.
🏔️ What is Chorizo Santarrosano?
Chorizo Santarrosano is pure Colombian magic! This special sausage comes from Santa Rosa de Cabal in Risaralda, nestled in Colombia's stunning coffee region. For generations, families have perfected this recipe using the finest pork cuts including "pernil" (ham) and "tocino" (bacon).
This traditional chorizo uses hand-chopped pork with onion, tomato, garlic, pepper, cumin and special seasonings. It's grilled until golden and served with warm arepa and fresh hogao. Just thinking about it makes my heart sing! 🎵
