👩‍🏫 What is a plural noun?

A plural noun refers to more than one person, place, or thing.
In English, we usually add -sbook → books.
In Spanish, we also change the ending of the word and sometimes the article too.

💞 Cultural Connection

In Colombia, family and community are very important. That’s why we often speak in the plural:

  • Mis amigos son divertidos.

  • Las familias colombianas son muy unidas.

Understanding plurals helps you describe real life — not just one thing, but many people and experiences. 🌎

📝 Practice time

  1. Write the plural:

  • el perro → ______________________

  • la ciudad → ______________________

  • la canción → ______________________

  • el árbol → ______________________

  1. Translate to Spanish:

  • The flowers → ______________________

  • The cars → ______________________

  • The brothers → ______________________

  • The problems → ______________________

  1. Complete with the correct plural form:

  • Tengo muchos ___________ (libro).

  • Las ___________ (niña) están en el parque.

  • Hay muchas ___________ (luz) en la ciudad.

  • Los ___________ (hombre) trabajan aquí.

🌟 Tip from Teacher Laura 🍊

Start by noticing plurals around you — in music, in signs, in your own family. Practice with people you love: mis hermanos, mis amigos, mis padres. That’s how Spanish becomes real and beautiful. 🌸
